What we do
LAN Media designs, develops and operates software for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, disconnected tools or a site that is no longer doing the work. The common thread is practical software: clear scope, maintainable engineering, and a product that still makes sense a year after launch.
Most of the work falls into three areas. We build web applications for operational workflows, internal teams and customer-facing products. We build data products that collect, structure and present information so people can act on it. And we work on the digital foundation around those products, including domain procurement, DNS implementation and content-rich platforms that need to stay fast and findable.
Some products start with our own research into a problem that is poorly served. Others start with a company that already knows the workflow, but needs a clearer, faster tool. In both cases we prefer focused products over large, vague platforms.
Two of those products are True Byline, which checks whether a photo looks real or AI-generated, and sponsor.ink, a guest-post marketplace with escrow. We list the products we operate on our projects page.
How a piece of work typically goes
We begin with the current situation: who uses the system, what is slow or risky today, and what a good first version would change. A concise outline is usually enough to start, the same context we ask for on the contact page.
From there we shape the product, build it, and put it into operation. Deployment is not the end of the job. Where we operate the software, we monitor it, keep it secure, and improve it as the business changes. That loop is the point of the company: we would rather own a smaller number of systems well than hand over a build and disappear.
Alongside client and product work we also publish small SEO tools: a hreflang checker, a sitemap checker and a robots.txt tester, because technical publishing is part of how we run digital platforms, not an afterthought.
How we decide what to build
Four habits show up in most of the work:
- Useful before impressive. The interface can be quiet if the workflow is right.
- Dependability by design. Authentication, backups, permissions and maintainability are product requirements, not extras.
- Evidence over assumptions. We use analytics, support and real usage to decide what to change next.
- Clear ownership. Commercial relationships, data practices and who is responsible for the system should be easy to explain. See our privacy policy and website terms.
